Our Story

Where It All Began

Brandvox is the brainchild of Nic and Ollie – two mates who lived together, went their separate ways (one back home to South Africa) and found each other again, this time both with very workable skills.

The digital marketing side of the business is where Nic comes into his own while Ollie leans towards the broadcast and video production.

Over the past 5 years marketing has changed dramatically and become heavily focused on distributing relevant content via the ever increasing number of digital channels. At the forefront of this wave of content is video.

Traditionally video producers and marketers have operated independently from one another but in a fast changing world where marketing is content and content is marketing, it made sense to combine forces and use our collective skills to create and distribute deliberate, engaging and affordable video production for the benefit of our clients.

We like to mix up our skills and make sure, not only do our clients get what they want and at an affordable price but we’re all having fun along the way.

The Key Players

Ollie Cox

Creative Director

Brought up in the West Country, Ollie enjoys a cider as much as the next west countryman. He also loves his sport. Starting out in 2003 Ollie got involved on the sport desk at ITV West and spent seven years reporting, presenting and generally talking about sport. He developed a love for harnessing a creative side through his mother, a Belgium interior designer, and started to explore the world of video production through editing, filming and directing features and video content for Peacocks Media – a company he set up with a partner up after leaving ITV.


He set up and run Bath Rugby TV and GlossTV and, off the back of winning an award for Best Sports Reporter and covering the Rugby World Cup in France 2007 for all the ITV regions, was a pitch side reporter at the recent Rugby World Cup for ITV.
And it’s through working with big organisations, such as the ECB, Bath Rugby, RFU, ICC among many others and helping them create content and grow their brand, Ollie picked up a number of skills to ultimately put him in the best possible position to help BrandVox push to be one of the leading all inclusive digital online marketing companies out there.

Nicholas Acton

Commercial Director

Nic grew up in South Africa and spent much of his youth exploring the wild African continent by small plane alongside his brother and father (sometimes mum came along), looking for uncharted isles and infamous beasts. It’s thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit handed down from his father that he uncovered numerous business opportunities along the way, where he ultimately established and ran a number of successful businesses of his own.

Nic was formally educated at business school in Bristol but returned to Africa to pursue an entrepreneurial career trailblazing the continent. However, it was a lovely English girl (and soon-to-be-wife) volunteering in Mozambique that drew Nic back to Bristol some 10 years after he first left.

Since being back Nic has undertaken further studies by completing a Postgradute Diploma in Digital Marketing. He also joined forces with long time friend Ollie, a creative genius and broadcast pro, to form Brandvox, a video marketing company that helps brands connect with customers through engaging content. Nic brings the marketing and business nouse and Ollie the creative spirit and together they form a formidable video marketing team.

Despite his business background, Nic is also fluent in all things tech and is a capable vision mixer and director. Outside the office, Nic is always hatching a new business idea, is an avid Bok supporter and spends as much time as possible on the golf course.

Alice Dodge


With 14 years of TV experience behind her on some of the biggest entertainment shows on the planet – X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, The Great British Bake Off to name a few –  Alice can also boast a BAFTA and an RTS Award among her career highlights.

Having directed and produced a number of high profile celebrities – George Michael, Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams and members of The Royal family Alice has moved her way into the position of Producer Director on shows like DIY SOS and Come Dine with Me.

She spent 10 years in London before moving to the West Country and on top of loving a bit of gossip, she’s happiest when she’s enjoying a glass of red and chewing the fat with friends and family – she’s also a top end Producer and self-shooting Director.
